Experience Sells
It’s all about the experience to let people fall in love with your product or service powered by influencer marketing and augmented reality as a technology booster.
Recently I was interested in the new Apple Macbook Air with the M2 chip. So my first stop on the information-gathering journey was YouTube. I searched for people (mostly tech influencers) who had something to tell about the new Macbook Air. I watched some videos to inform me about Apple’s new product and to have a first glance at the design. I like when technology-minded people can tell me more about the specs and compare them to previous models. Because checking a lof text information about this annoys me, to be honest. This way, I have it compact and summarized in a video where somebody tells me what I was searching for. Information gathering in the twenty-first century. And also a kind of experience if it’s an entertaining video too.
As you can see, my first attempt to learn more about a product is on YouTube and influential people who know something about tech. Not even the website itself from the manufacturer came up in my mind at first. On my second stop, I also browsed some hashtags on Instagram to see if there were product pictures from the WWDC22 conference. And the final destination was the visit to Apple’s official website to get the supreme experience on my journey. With the information given by the influencers, it was the next logical step to take a look at the manufacturers’ product pages. While scrolling through the pages, I saw the possibility of viewing the Macbook Air with AR (Augmented Reality). To use the AR tool, you will need your phone camera to visualize what it looks like to have the Macbook on your desk. I have to admit, this finally put the new Macbook on my wishlist on the front places, only because I use AR with my phone for a perfect belief of owning one. A near-to-realistic experience and almost touching the product make you want more.

If you put my journey into a marketing perspective, I believe that social media platforms mixed with influencers are the first source for product or service research. And it makes you automatically visit a product page to get more information or even an AR experience. And that’s why Skyfion is getting our clients involved in digital marketing to let their potential customers experience their products and services the way they prefer. And that’s why I see the opportunity lying in “Experience Sells” brought to you nearer by storytellers (influencer marketing) and the use of technology (Augmented Reality).
